Viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre produced by processing plant-based cellulose and reforming it into textile fibres.
Its soft hand feel, fluid drape and moisture absorption make it widely used in apparel and textile manufacturing.
Viscose can be used in knitwear, blouses, T-shirts, dresses, linings and many other women’s garments. Depending on yarn construction and production method, different levels of softness and lustre can be achieved.

Viscose is not polyester. However, it is not classified as a natural fibre either. It is a man-made regenerated fibre derived from naturally sourced cellulose.
How Is Viscose Elite Yarn Produced?
The main raw material used for viscose is cellulose obtained from plant-based sources such as wood.
Beech may be used, but cellulose from various suitable wood species can also be processed.
The cellulose undergoes controlled chemical processing, is converted into a suitable solution and then regenerated into fibres.
Staple viscose fibres can be spun into yarn, while continuous filament viscose can be used where a smoother and more lustrous appearance is desired.
Properties of Viscose Yarn
Viscose yarn can provide a soft hand feel, fluid drape, good moisture absorption, strong dye affinity and elegant surface appearance.
Its relatively high moisture absorption can contribute to wearing comfort.
Static build-up is generally lower than with many synthetic fibres, while pilling performance depends on yarn construction, knitting technique and use conditions.
