REEL TRİKO | Yarn Production and Yarn Types
REEL TRİKO has been active in women’s knitwear and textile production since 1993.
Our experience, which began with women’s knitwear manufacturing, has developed over time to include yarns, textile raw materials and different production processes.
The correct choice of fibre and yarn structure is one of the key factors influencing textile quality. Fibre composition, yarn count, twist, surface characteristics and production method can directly affect softness, durability, appearance and comfort.
For this reason, yarn selection is considered an essential part of women’s knitwear production.
Yarn and Raw Materials in Textile Production
Textile yarns can be produced from natural, regenerated and synthetic fibres.
Cotton and wool are natural fibres; viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre; while polyester, polyamide and acrylic are examples of synthetic fibres.
Each fibre differs in terms of:
Moisture absorption
Softness
Strength
Elasticity
Thermal properties
Surface appearance
Dyeability
The appropriate material should therefore be selected according to the garment, season, target market and production technique.
Why Is Yarn Technology Important?
Even when the same fibre is used, different spinning systems can produce yarns with very different properties.
Important factors include yarn count, twist, blend ratio, spinning method and filament or staple construction.
In knitwear production, the yarn must also be compatible with machine gauge, knitting structure and garment design.
What Is Yarn?
Yarn is a continuous textile structure produced by assembling, spinning, twisting or forming fibres and filaments for use in knitting, weaving and other textile processes.
Yarns can be single or plied and can have different thicknesses, levels of twist, elasticity, lustre and surface characteristics.
REEL TRİKO Yarn Types
Viscose Elite Yarn – regenerated cellulose yarn offering softness, drape and good moisture absorption.
Viscose Elastane Yarn – combines the softness of viscose with the stretch properties of elastane.
Short-Cut Polyamide Yarn – a novelty-effect yarn that can create short fringed or eyelash-type surface effects.
Polen Yarn – a novelty yarn option with a distinctive decorative surface character.
Viscose Filament Yarn – filament viscose providing a smoother, more fluid and lustrous appearance.
